Bioshock 2 launched, PC widescreen is fubar again

2K Games just unleashed Bioshock 2 on us Bioshock-hungry gamers but it only took moments before threads were popping up claiming that the PC version had its widescreen support messed up again.

Even though the first Bioshock PC version was patched some time after the release with proper widescreen and FOV settings it now seems that the old bug has made a comeback. This is supposedly all due to the fact that Irrational Games used an unpatched Unreal Engine 3 or Bioshock 1 codebase to start developing their game.

This post in the 2K Forum has a pretty good explanation of what is going wrong with the game. It looks like it isn't a good time to be a quality engineer over at the Irrational Games testing facility.
