Bioshock ready

Posted on Friday, 10 August 2007 by Herrdidi, source: GS
Ken Levine of Irrational Games has confirmed they finished their upcoming title Bioshock which means it's ready for production. It'll be available on August 21st in the US and three days later in Europe on PC and X360.

The game is played in a mysterious castle at the bottom of the ocean. Unfortunately some dramatic things have happened (think Racoon City) and it's your job to survive the situation without tearing your clothes or something like that...

The release of Bioshock will also be the start of the 07 gaming season, it's the beginning of a wonderful period in gaming history.

Yeh but looking better on a PC comes at a significant price.

You only have to look at crysis, 5% will be able to make it look like the videos and screenshots. Most gamers who don't have 8800 GTX sli and 4GB of ram are screwed.

i dont think so:
suggested system requirements:
Pentium 4 1.4 GHz, 256MB RAM, graphic card 64MB (GeForce 4 or better), 4.5 GB HDD.

i hope that this is true

Those sounds like the suggested graphics cards for Half Life 1. Are you drunk, stupid, ignorant, or just trying to confuse people.....or maybe you're trying to be funny?

specs that r going to run bioshock ok. these are about the same as r6 vegas recomand specs but that a port so it run crap on most computers. IF bioshock is not a port, i think it will run ok, setting low-med at 1024*768 at about 20 frame rate per sec on the following sysytems.

Minimum
intel 4 3.5ghz or amd 64 3500
1GB RAM
6800gt or ATI x1600

Recommended
intel 2 core duo e4300 or amd x2 3800
2GB RAM
7800 GT or ATI x1800

not sure, does say in the official system requirements, but at it use Unreal Engine 3 like r6 vegas, i think you will need a shader model 3 gpu. but i might be wrong as unreal tournament 3 support shader 2.0 graphics hardware say this site.

I hope it's 2.0. Not in the mood to buy a new gfx card just because of an old shader model :(

Keep in mind that these are not official requirements from Epic, nor final. What we know is that the game will take advantage of technologies such as dual core processors, AGEIA compatible Physics chips and Shader Model 3.0.

From that link he posted.

I'm glad it takes advantage of multi-threading though.

Be aware in-case you wish to purchase a copy of Bioshock, that it
requires Pixel Shading 3.

I don't think people should worry too much about how well it runs.
The only somewhat good hardware I have is an ATI Radeon X1600 Pro for
a graphics card, and I ran the demo well enough to enable extras in the
graphics menu for added environment.

Bottom Line:
If you have Pixel Shader 3 support, you should be fine.
