The parents of a Chinese 13-year-old boy have pressed charges against Blizzard. The parents want to sue Blizzard for the death of their son. According to them, the boy died while playing out one of the scenes in World of Warcraft.

The parents filed a suit against Blizzard Entertainment on Wednesday, saying their son jumped to his death while reenacting a scene from the game, the report said. The parents are backed by the anti-Internet addiction advocate Zhang Chunliang. Mr. Chunliang has spoken to 63 parents whose children have allegedly suffered from online gaming addiction and plans to file a class-action suit, according to the report."

The people from Blizzard have up to this point refused to give out an official statement.

Meanwhile World of Warcraft has sold over one-and-a-half million copies in China alone. China and online addiction, a story that has not met it's end.

What exactly was he reenacting? I've played through most of WoW's content and I dont see what they could be talking about. This isnt even a violent game.

There is a Horde quest in Thousand Needles where you jump off a cliff and get teleported to safety.

But anyway, this is clearly the parents and society's fault over in China, not Blizzard's.

I see this as the parents fault, not the gamers. Think of it like this: A man gets drunk on beer and kills himself, but is the beer company at fault or was it the man? If the parents had more control over there sons gaming, like stopping him from playing it all the time he would be alive now. The words 'computer game' are clouding peoples judgements in this case. I have also heard that he was playing warcraft 3, not WOW.
