Blu-ray equipped X360 before Christmas?

This time it's Crunchgear who are reporting that Microsoft will be announcing a version of the Xbox360 with integrated Blu-ray drive.

I‘ve got a close friend who works at Microsoft, previously with the HD-DVD division and now in the E&D division (Xbox, zune).

I’m told MS will upstage Apple with a Monday 9am PDT announcement (1 hour before WWDC) via press release that the Xbox 360 will get Blu-Ray before Christmas. Price was “under the current Elite”, but i could get any more details

Guess we'll know in a couple of hours whether or not this rumour is true :)

i dont see the point,except to plump up sonys profits...with blu ray titles mostly ownd by sony....if xbox peeps wanna watch hd tv or movies get a standalone player... i doubt the 360 games will come on blu ray
