EA has got the Medal of Honor-series, Activision is racking up big money with their Call of Duty-games, so it was inevitable that Ubi Soft, the other big publisher, would create a WW2-FPS of themselves.

They went to Gearbox (known for games as HL: Opposing Force, 007: Nightfire and Halo) and asked them to start development on Brothers in Arms. The game was last shown on this year's E3 and surely got its part of the attention.
