In spite of the positive reception of the game, Borderlands is still plagued with broken online gameplay. A couple of unlucky players came into contact with a bug that removed the entire progress of their character.

On the Gearbox forum multiple topics have been created by struck gamers, who saw all their skillpoints and guns melt before the sun when they entered and left a multiplayer session.

Gearbox has told its community that they know of the problem and are trying to fix it asap and if possible undo some of the damage it has already caused.Maybe it's better to wait to play the game online after the patch just in case? :)
