Not too long ago Command & Conquer 4 was officially announced. Until now there weren't many details to speak of on this fourth installment in the popular franchise. A good thing then that in the latest edition of PC Jeux there's enough information to quench your C&C 4 thirst - for now.

The kind people over at CnCSaga have summarized all the important information in the article. For example we learn this will normally be the last Command & Conquer to revolve around Tiberium. We already knew Kane would approach GDI to form some form of alliance. It comes as no surprise then that the war in C&C 4 will be fought by rogue extremist elements in both GDI and NOD, who disagree with this new coalition.

EA claims the cut-scenes will no longer simply be monologues done in a blue room. They will pack much more action and are said to involve the player to a higher degree.

Certain elements of the RPG genre will find its way into the game. As such players will always gain experience, wether they lose a battle or win one. We also find out that the construction yards of yore have been replaced with crawler units. In the event of the destruction of one such units a new one will spawn. The players can choose between an offensive, a defensive or a utility crawler.

The screenshots themselves deliver a wealth of information too. We can see the Mammoth Mk2 makes an appearance, we can also spot a NOD walking armor unit, not to mention a unit that can best be described as an Obelisk on a tank chassis.
