CDV loss deepens

Posted on Wednesday, 17 March 2004 by Speed, source: Fragland
Gamesindustry.biz is reporting that CDV's losses continue to rise
German publisher CDV has announced provisional results for the full financial year 2003, revealing an expected loss of some €10 million for the company following the cancellation of some projects in development.

Two projects were written off during Q4 2004, with Psychotoxic and The Kore Gang both being discontinued in an unscheduled move, while the values of a number of other titles were also lowered as unit sales failed to meet expectations.

The two write offs have cost the company around €3.2 million during the quarter, making a significant contribution towards the €10 million loss which is expected for the full twelve months.
It seems things aren't going too great with the German publisher and if things don't improve fast, I expect the worst...

i think they overdid it a little bit, they published so much games that the good selling ones probably weren't enough to make up for the losses of their bad games.
Maby they wanted to become to big to fast, you don't become the new ea overnight in my opinion.
but anyway i hope they can recover from this huge loss, couse they published some really interesting games
