Call of Duty 5 gets a name
Posted on Monday, 9 June 2008 by Speed, source: Maximumfear
From now on, we'll refer to Call of Duty 5 as Call of Duty: World at War.
That's in short the message Maximumfear has launched on the internet, courtesy of the latest issue of OXM.
The game is being developed by Treyarch as was expected and will be using the Call of Duty 4 engine with some added features like the ability the burn down buildings and foliage.
Battles will be against the Japanese in the Pacific and you'll also be able to play as Russian invader of Germany. New to single player will be the possibility to issue commands to the rest of your party which sounds a bit like Brothers in Arms.
Let's hope it will be better than Treyarch previous attempt at the series.

Treyarch is promising that this new installment of Call of Duty will be the darkest one yet and are dedicated to making the best game they can. They have had two years of development time, rather than the 11 months they had for Call of Duty 3. And this time they have specific teams working on all the different versions, with the Xbox 360 version acting as the lead.
One of the new weapons that are supposed to appear is a flamethrower that will allow you to burn off the skin of your enemies. Sounds cool!Let's hope it will be better than Treyarch previous attempt at the series.

Also leave a commands system out of it, COD's greatness has alot to do with its simplicity and theres nothing more crap in a game as manic as COD than having to issue stupid AI with orders.
Screw COD5, i'll wait for COD6 when were back in the modern combat.
