Call of Duty 5 not by Infinity Ward?

While speaking with Gameplayer, Infinity Ward president Grant Collier stated that the studio will probably not be making Call of Duty 5

The reason behind this is found in CoD3. Infinity Ward is owned by Activision, who want their killer Call of Duty franchise to appear on Christmas shelves every year. Grant and his team were not willing to rush their next project to meet such a deadline so they came to a simple truce: Infinity Ward got two years to make CoD4, and stand-in developer Treyarch took care of CoD3 in the interim. While certainly not confirmed, it appears that such an approach will be taken again in 2008, leaving CoD6 as the next likely Infinity Ward project. Well, alongside the development of more maps (confirmed), weapons (confirmed), perks (confirmed), attachments (confirmed) and a co-op mode (rumoured) as DLC for CoD4.

So, if this is the case (Infinity Ward going straight for Call of Duty 6) then it's highly probably that Treyard, the makers of Call of Duty 3, will get a shot at the franchise again with CoD5.

At the moment this is all rumours of course but it does sound plausible

cod1 was a good starter, lots of good memories with cod2, cod 3 took about a week for me to realize that i wasted 60 bucks, cod 4 is the shit! if cod5 isnt made by infinity ward its not gunna even be worth looking at

Cod2 and 4 are the only things worth looking at- Triehard (triearch) sucks and Infinity ward are clearly more talented! (less lag on x-box live please)
