Call of Duty 5 shows its face this weekend

Posted on Wednesday, 18 June 2008 by Herrdidi, source: EG
Call of Duty: World at War, the fifth part in the legendary series, will be shown this weekend exclusively on Xbox 360.

Infinity Ward remains at the sidelines this time because it's the development team of Treyarch who will be creating this episode. They'll release the first trailer for the game on Xbox Live.

One of the most important tasks received by Treyarch is to make the series more realistic, scary and more adult. On top of that they want to give Word War 2 games a new feel.

"This is a scarier Call of Duty than we've ever seen."

The AI will also get an update to really make the Japanese tactics come to life. For instance, they'll use trees to surprise you and they'll be more than happy to use their swords.

The engine will be the same used in CoD4, but with improved lighting and physics and with the addition of a fire model which makes flames act more realistic. Of course you'll get a flamethrower to put this new feature to the test!

We haven't heard more details, but the two-player local co-op and four-player online co-op certainly look appealing. Soon on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii.
