Castle Wolfenstein Preview

The mud eaters over at In the Trenches have posted a new preview of Gray Matter's upcoming Q3A shooter Return to Castle Wolfenstein[BLOCK]The team at Gray Matter isn’t content to simply place new skins on the Quake 3 models and call it Wolfenstein. They are going all out to make this game capture the feel of the original games while pushing the Quake 3 engine. They are doing a lot of work on creating a strong enemy AI. This allows for things like ducking for cover (pretty standard anymore), running away (also par for FPS these days), picking up stronger weapons if they are visible (now the list of AI advancements is getting interesting), the ability to pick up grenades and toss them back (this will make a fun game of hot potato), and, finally, a bit of randomization to make sure you cannot predict what enemies are going to do. This could make a huge difference. Nothing is more annoying than games where the elite soldiers always do X, the grunts always do Y, blah, blah[/BLOCK]
