'Close call' between EA and Activision in Brutal Legend case
Posted on Friday, 31 July 2009 by daffeh, source: Associated Press
Electronic Arts and Activision are still duking out a legal battle over rock gameBrutal Legend and now the judge who needs to figure out the whole thing has delayed his ruling by a week.
The judge, who goes by the superhero name of Los Angeles Superior Court judge Craig Karlan, also said he wasn't likely to rule in favour of Activision but things were still 'a close call'.
Activision lawyers are trying to block EA from distributing the game as they have invested $15 million into the project before EA took over.
According to Associated Press developer Double Fine Productions need to deliver a final version to EA on the 8th of August and the judge's delay now puts the ruling very close to that date, on August 6.
Judge Karlan might be unlikely to rule in favour of Activision, he is still considering delaying the release of the game until things are cleared out.
I still hope the game comes out this October because I've added this one to my birthday-list.
