1Up has word that Capcom has decided to close down Clover Studios, the developers of such original games as Viewtiful Joe, Okami and God Hand.

Reason for the closure is that although original, the games' sales weren't good enough compared to popular series like Resident Evil and Onimusha.

Clover Studios was created July 1st 2004 with as main goal creating original games and had some of Capcom's best people in the house. However, it now seems that the company has decided that the experiment didn't go all too well and the studio will its doors closed March 2007
