Command & Conquer Renegade 2 in the making?

At an internal meeting with EA Los Angeles, it was announced that the CryEngine 2 in the near future would be taken in. Since the studio mostly works on RTS games and the engine is best for FPS games, the rumour about a sequel of a second C&C: Renegade started floating around. This was more or less also confirmed by an anonymous employee.

Command & Conquer Renegade got mediocre reviews in 2002 when it turned the C&C universe into a 3D surrounding. It's not know whether the game would be an actual sequel of Renegade or a completely new project. Still, it's almost certain to be C&C-related.

OMG ren 2 would be soo cool!!!!! if it brings back the very fun multiplayer mode. and actually, ive been wanting that to be the next C&C after c&c 3

apperntly the game was cancled in 2003 and i dont think there working on any renegade now. although i realy want them to base a renegade on c&c 2 or 3, the first was great.

I think they are going through with it this time - they've seen the impact that the first had and have finally decided to come out of their hole and do this ;D BUT ~ they're probably going to be working on it for a while and wont be released for a couple of years =]

I'm not so sure EA will go through with it. I keep hearing that the next game with be in the RA (red alert) universe. I tried the demo. Its ok, BUT ITS NO RENEGADE. But now I'm hearing that it"s been cancled. So thats a good sign. (I guess). I think its should be in the Renegade univese. I don't have anything against EA about making an RA type game. It"s just that were all looking forward to a new renegade. I hope its a great game either way!
