Console gamers ready for strategy
Sixteen years after the release of Civilization for PC console gamers are finally ready for strategy too, according to Sid Meier.
That is what he, among other things, told while his studio is busy on Civilization Revolution for 360, Wii, PS3 and DS. CVG added that it is part of the fact that more and more genres find their way to the console.
In other words: time for strategy, especially if it is presented in a cool and fun way, with the needed beautiful graphics and music.
Hardcore PC gamers who worship the Civ series do not have to fear: the pc series remains made for die-hards and will not be made easier. Both games are developed seperately.

"I think the console audience has evolved to where it's not just hand-eye action games that we're seeing," he continued. "The console audience is ready to step up to strategy gaming, especially when we can present in a way that looks cool and sounds cool."
