November was a beautiful month for the console owners, but a bit of a bad one for PC gamers. Below you can find the latest statistics of the NPD. First we have the number of sold consoles in the US, followed by the top 10 of most sold games.

Number of sold consoles:

Nintendo DS - 1,535,000
Nintendo Wii - 981,000
Xbox 360 - 770,000
PlayStation Portable - 567,000
PlayStation 2 - 496,000
PlayStation 3 - 466,000

As you can see, Nintendo is still in charge of selling the most consoles with their Nintendo Wii and DS. After that we have the Xbox 360 followed by the PlayStation consoles. What is a bit surprising is that the PlayStation 2 is still doing better then the PS3. Reason for this could be the removal of backward compatibility on the PlayStation 3.

Top 10 best sold games:

1. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360) - 1,565,404
2. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) - 1,123,070
3. Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360) - 980,000
4. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PS2) - 967,000
5. Wii Play (Wii) - 564,000
6. Mass Effect (Xbox 360) - 472,793
7. Call of Duty 4 (PS3) - 444,000
8. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Wii) - 426,000
9. Halo 3 (Xbox 360) - 387,000
10. Assassin's Creed (PS3) - 376,843

Call of Duty 4 is an absolute hit on the Xbox 360 with over 1,5 milion sold copies. The Wii can be proud to have the second place with Super Mario Galaxy which came out a week later then CoD4. To finish the top 3 we have Assassin's Creed on the Xbox 360, which sold just under a milion.

What is odd is the missing of 2 big PC games, namely Crysis and Unreal Tournament 3. Both games sold less then 100,000 copies last month. Which is strange considering there was a lot of advertisement for them. Reason for this could be the high system requirements for Crysis and the small community of Unreal Tournament 3.
