Console version of Diablo possible, in theory

Rob Pardo, Blizzard's vice president of game design, admits that a console version of Diablo III is possible, in theory.

There aren't any plans just yet of making a console version, since they recently announced that Diablo will be released exclusively on PC and Mac because those are the most appropriate platforms.

Pardo said, "I think it's theoretically possible. It would have some control changes that I think you'd have to make... But it's probably, of our major franchises, the one that's most console friendly, for sure."
Will it be coming to a console near you? Well, not just yet, but maybe one day...

A 'point and click' mouse based game on a controller. Kinda loses it's charm I think.

...It's point and click to begin with. The controller advance was made for moving it to the lesser console gamers.

Lost charm is what lesser consoles are for. Look at any game based off a movie.

I think porting the game to the console market would be brilliant. Both heavyweights have USB... Why not?? And even if the mouse option is impossible, I'm sure Blizzard in all their wisdom will be able to deliver a good control system.

I don't really think that'll be a good idea 'cause the interesting part of Diablo II were the "party kills". However, for that part, if you were a good gamer, you would be used to drinking your potions on time (a of use of consoles that is easy enough), but to teleport and cast spells you would have trained your skills with the mouse! It's similar on the PvP mode (WoW) cause your mouse is important, the consoles - you just get used to them. The charm isn't lost, it's just for Starcraft 2 (there you should be a real console master). However i don' really worry... that's Blizzard.
