There's an interview over at Gamerspulse with Thomas Häuser from Funatics, creators of the upcoming Settlers-like game Cultures[BLOCK]My opinion is that the Settlers series is moving in a different direction. They are focusing more on multiplayer and fighting. Cultures is more about managing a village. It is much more important to take care of each of your inhabitants. It is more a simulation of a real village. One example is in how you ‘produce’ villagers. In Settlers 3 you build a home and x villagers directly appear after the house is finished. In Cultures you have to found a family (let a man and a woman marry), give them a nice home, let them have enough to eat, let them spend some time together, and if all this is there you let them have a baby.[/BLOCK]
