Posted on Friday, 21 April 2006 by Speed, source: Fragland.net
1933 was the year that the original King Kong was released. Now we're 2006 and Peter Jackson has finally had one of his dreams come true: do a remake of this original monster movie.

Whether it's worth checking out, you can find out by click here and start reading our DVD review.

I love jacksons stuff, but this film is not one i will watch again. Far too long and you don't realy like anyone in the movie, when the "monkey" finaly dies (oops! did i give away the end?) all you can think is "thank god thats over"

I have to agree with the first poster here. The movie was way too long and some things should have been shortened. Especially the Raptor fight sequence and the ending come to mind; half an hour with CGI fighting is just pushing it too far, and all the slowmo effects used throughout the movie to try to capture a moment over 5 minutes instead of 1 is just hilariously boring.

Bottom line; a too long and boring movie.

I agree. When I saw the picture in the movie theatre, I already thought the Raptor fight and the ending were stretched and seeing the DVD again only made it worse.

King Kong is acceptable, but nothing to be amazed about.

If anything it proves that CGI should support a movie, not 'make' it.
