Dark Athena is a sequel, not a remake
Quite some stuff has been going on with The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena, not the least a change in publisher with Starbreeze moving from Sierra to Atari for its game.
Things seem to get even better now as the previously described "remake" of Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay will in fact have a completely new campaign that lasts for about 10 hours.
Therefore we can now conclude that Dark Athena will in fact be a sequel to Butcher Bay, especially since Atari has listed the original game as "bonus material":
Bonus material –Escape from Butcher Bay, considered as one of the best games of 2004, has been re-mastered and will be included along with The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
The game is set for release in the Spring of 2009 and I for one am hoping on a similarly great game as Butcher Bay!And if you want to have a look at what's coming, check out this new trailer:
