Dead Space movie coming up

EA has sent out word that together with Starz Media they're planning to make an animated movie based on their sci-fi horror game Dead Space which is currently in development.

The movie will tell the story of what happened between the end of the comics and the start of the game. Expect a plot that reminds of Alien, where a mining ship discovers an abandoned alien beacon far away in space. The result of this is the awakening of the sleeping alien race after which the crew of the ship will have to fight for their lives.

Starz Media is a production house that amongst other things participated in the creation of The Simpsons and King of the Hill. The release is set to coincide with that of the game (Xbox360, PS3) on October 31st, and the dvd will arrive a little later.

EA and Starz Media have also stated to have plans to make movies of two other franchises.
