Deathmatch vs. Teamplay

The guys and dolls over at 3DActionplanet are at it again, this time with an editorial discussion on which is the kewlest, Deathmatch or Teamplay (I always thought Teamplay could be Deathmatch, but I guess they understand DM as FFA...)[BLOCK]Love2Play: If deathmatch is dead then no one would bother with single player. And that means System Shock 2, Deus Ex, Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, Half-Life (in my opinion the best single player game of all time) Half-Life: They Hunger 1, 2 and soon 3, KISS: Psycho Circus, Daikatana, plus many more had no point in selling in single play? No, no, my friend. The fact that games are released as a single player game and sell and then live on is because the base player need is deathmatch -- you and you alone against the enemy. Like I said before, teamplay is for those who can't do it by themselves. They need someone to help them against the enemy - waah. Buncha wusses![/BLOCK]
