Those who have an Xbox Live Gold subscribtion, can download this Tuesday a demo of Crackdown. The game offers lots of action, super powers and fights on great heights included.

I don’t usually like to talk about specific dates for content, but my sources indicate that it’s ok this time : the long awaited ‘Crackdown’ demo will be available for Xbox Live Gold members next Tuesday (1/23) at 0200 PT. (What time is that in your area.)

Quote from here.www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/01/16/doh-crackdown-demo-delayed/

We just got word from Microsoft that the Crackdown demo, scheduled to hit the Marketplace on Thursday, has been delayed. The certification process is taking longer than expected, but Microsoft says the demo will only be delayed a few days and will be available in January. Microsoft also touched on some differences between the demo and the retail version of Crackdown. The demo will feature a dumbed down version of the "jump in Live co-op" gameplay, where you'll have to setup a game with a friend prior to starting
the demo. But don't worry, the full version will implement jump in Live co-op just like Gears of War has. They also mentioned that the Agent leveling system has been enhanced for the demo to allow players a chance to try out the advanced abilities.

I am really looking forward to this one as well I hope my expectations are not too high.

Very true. The demo initially failed the certification, but the issue has since been cleared and the demo is scheduled to be released tomorrow.

I must say its pretty good imo. Great thing is there seems to be loads to do but as the demo says you power up much faster in the demo which does make things seem a bit quick. So I guess the full game will be at a bit slower pace.

I think the graphics look amazing but it’s a shame it seems to be running at around 30fps I really thought we would see games pushing the 60fps a lot more in this gen.

But to be honest their are not too many slow down moments so a steady 30 is better than a terrible 60 imo and after all it is only a demo so fingers crossed for full game.

I think this could even be over shadowed by the fact that a lot will buy it for the H3 invite, but again it might make those people that weren’t going to bother be surprised that they in fact have got themselves a great game as well.

I would give the demo 7.5/10 would have been 8 but the 30 minute time limit lost the other .5 for me.

Was a bit annoyed by the demo timer, i dont see why they do it in demos.
Its not like you only get one play, as soon as the time is up you can restart the demo.

But that has nothing to do with the actual game which i think is awesome, it looks incredble with such a unique look, i know we have all seen cell shading before in Jet Set Radio but i think this doesnt look as blatantly cell shaded to me, its kinda in between.

The cars look amazing and the damage modeling is ace but the thing that made me say wow was when i got my driving ability maxed out and jumped into one of your own cars that are in the garage at the start, i just got in and out and watched the car morph in amazment, cant wait to get the full game so i can see your cars morph totaly as the demo doesnt let max it out properly for obvious reasons.

Jumping about is awesome fun aswell and the size of the play area is pretty imense and there is so much going on its unbelievable.

The co-op is great fun aswell, me and a mate had a great laugh racing each other and generally causing havock together.

All in all i am well impressed and cant wait for the full game.

Another AAA title under the already fast growing 360 belt. I really enjoyed the demo as well and I agree with you guys about 30 minute time out just stupid with so much to try and do imo. Maybe it's because they only have limited servers up and did it so everyone gets a go, just a thought. It took a bit of the pain away from having Forza now pushed back till May by the looks of it.

This is going to be a great year for gamers probably one of the best years ever I feel it in my water.

Taken for IGN:

Halo 3 Beta for All
Chance to play Halo 3 online not as limited as first believed.

Millions want a chance to play Halo 3 online prior to its release, which has lead to some stressful nights for fans. With limited openings in the Internet lottery and Xbox Live competition, most gamers must rely on receiving the golden ticket that comes with a retail copy Crackdown. Some have mistakenly been lead to believe that only a select number of copies of Crackdown will contain Halo3 beta invites. This is not true.

A Microsoft representative confirmed to IGN that every copy of the initial run of Crackdown includes an invite to the Halo 3 beta. If you want in on the beta (and didn't earn an invite by other means), purchase a copy of Crackdown on February 20 and you'll be set. You can even purchase a copy on February 21 or even March 15 and still be in the clear. Clearly, you won't be able to purchase a copy of Crackdown months down the road and expect to find a beta invite inside. If you're a bit late the party, just make sure the box is marked as having the beta and you'll be in the clear. Oh, and you'll get a copy of Crackdown to boot. Sweet!
