DiRT 2 announced, again

Following rumours and a semi announcement way back in July 2007 which never got a follow up because of the small issue with Colin McRae dying in a helicopter crash in September 2007, Codemasters now officially announced the successor to DiRT.

The game will still carry Colin McRae's name to honour him for the great sportsman he was. This decision was made jointly with his family.

“Colin McRae was all about the speed, the excitement and the entertainment of rally driving. Even when we first worked with him over ten years ago, he captured a freedom and a spirit that enthralled rally fans.”

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is set to debut somewhere in 2009 on all current platforms simultaneously. That's right, no one gets left behind by Codemasters (except PS2 that is).
