Disturbing first review score for Quake 4

Quake 4, one of the top titles we expect a lot from, is almost amongst us. The first reviews will follow shortly and the very first is already a fact.

PC Gamer gave this game surprisingly enough a thin 70%

Final Verdict:

Highs - Loads of action; gruesome visuals; Q3DM17 with Doom 3 graphics

Lows - Uninspired gameplay; Stroggification plot twist goes nowhere; no multiplayer bots.

Bottom line - This old-school shooter suffers from a lack of 21st-century game design.

I'm very curious how other sites and we ourselves will review this game. Just hope this game isn't old wine in a new bag. (dutch expression but you get the point :) )

No multiplayer bots? What was this reviewer thinking about? Doesn't really seem like a thorough review, just some keywords basically.

Anyway, I'd like to review it myself when I play the game, not listen to some dork with an Oxford degree.

I only spec sth good from sp, good graphics and space war history. Like q2 but multiplied x1000. About mp its same as always nothing new, even same awards and same off voice very fatal error. Wanted to see sth new but im sure i will b deceptioned

dude ! Clan XIII organised a small LAN party this weekend. We played Q2 (railgun only) for a whole hour ... then we all had a headache because of the ultra-fast gameplay :)
