Divinity 2 to be unveiled during the next weeks
Belgian Larian Studios seem to strap themselves ready for a big reveal of their next-gen RPG, Divinity 2: Ego Draconis (PC, Xbox 360) during the coming weeks.
Not only have they revamped the official Larian website with a statement that this week they'll finally be ready to talk about their next RPG but they have also posted a picture of a mysterious bald man with strange marks on his face. Just as interesting is the fact that they have listed several open job positions indicating Divinity 2 might not be as close to completion as some would have hoped.
This game has a German publisher, namely dtp, and D2 has already been covered in the latest issue of the written German game mag PC Games. An overjoyed fan has posted some tidbits from that preview here on the Larian forums which also contains posts from the Larian devs themselves reassuring everyone that they are working on both versions of the game parallel and that they'll try to make the PC version have a feel of its own.
Our poor translation skills further deduct that there will be three playable characters (like the original Divine Divinity), extremely branching quests (many ways to solve them, the lead designer speaks of 32 paths to solve a certain quest) and that the release is scheduled for the second quarter of 2009. The game will be showed at the Games Convention in Leipzig as well.
Sounds interesting? I bet most people will be curious to what the subtitle (I, Dragon?) actually means for the game itself. By the way, the screenshots of the game in this post are pretty old and they might not be representative for the final quality of the graphics.
