E3 Booths: Activision FPS games

Activision has a rather big lineup this year but we only checked out their shooters up until now but since things look pretty good, we didn't want to hold them from you yet.

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One: The console version of Call of Duty 2. Actually it isn't the same as the PC/XBox360 game but I guess Activision just wants to use the name to increase sales. What we saw on PS2 wasn't bad seeing that it was PS2 but personally I found it graphically to be utter crap. Also something that will not make you love it unless you're an ace in aiming with a PS2 controller is the fact that there's no auto-aim to help you.

Quake 4: Graphically even more impressing than Doom 3 although the "plastic faces" are still present. Storyline looks pretty cool with the fact that you're playing a marine who gets partially transformed into a Strogg. The demo we got to see behind closed doors was pretty awesome.

Call of Duty 2: coming for PC and Xbox360. Quake 4 may look nice, but CoD2 clearly surpasses it with easy when it comes to atmosphere (and comes VERY close concerning graphics)

Infinity Ward has created their own engine for the game and it's just AWESOME! For me definitely one of the highlights of the show. This is also the very first game I have ever seen that creates realistic fog and dust after an explosion.
