E3: Microsoft conference summary
Posted on Monday, 1 June 2009 by Speed, source: EvilAvatar
For all you people looking towards news regarding E3, here's a summary of what interesting Microsoft had to show at their conference:Shadow Company: a 2D side scrolling action adventure XBLA-exclusive title by Chair Entertainment, powered by the Unreal engine Joyride: another Xbox Live game that will be released this winter. It's all about racing and stunts as you could guess by the title Crackdown 2: developed by Ruffian games en apparently exclusive for X360. No further info was given, only a CGI trailer shown Left 4 Dead 2: we already thought it would be announced and unspurprisingly it was. A CGI trailer was shown and it's coming for PC and X360 Splinter Cell Conviction: coming this Fall exclusively for X360. Sam Fisher looking for the killer of his daughter with some inspiration apparently coming from the Hitman series? Looks promising! Forza Motorsport 3: anyone had any doubts this would be announced? Over 400 cars from over 50 manufacturers (some going bankrupt at this very moment probably) are coming to your X360 in October. HALO 3: ODST: Coming September 22nd Halo: Reach: officially announced although rumours were flying around on the net already the last couple of days. Supposed to arrive Fall 2010 but if you buy ODST you get invited to join the multiplayer beta of this one. Alan Wake: Yes, it's still alive and this year they've said it should arrive on X360 Spring 2010 Last.FM: they're partnering with Microsoft on Xbox Live and it will cost nothing more if you've got a Gold subscription Netflix: gets an update and you won't be needing your pc anymore for browsing movies SkyTV: coming on X360 for the UK. We couldn't care less to be honest Video Marketplace: you'll be able to watch 1080p movies and TV as of this Fall Live Party: was announced already before but they're still working on it Facebook: as if Facebook doesn't get enough hype already, the partnership with Xbox Live will make it even bigger. And if that isn't enough social networking for you, also a partnership with Twitter has been announced Metal Gear Solid: Rising: some game news again! MGS goes X360 but no release date is given yet Project Natal: motion control where YOU are the controller. Sounds a bit like Eye Toy if you ask me, but it also has facial and voice recognition.
And the non-exclusive stuff:The Beatles: Rock Band: studio tracks from the "Fab Four" along with donwloadable content. One title is exclusive for X360: "All You Need is Love". Tony Hawk: Ride: we already knew it was coming but Tony came to stage to demonstrate the new controller. Might be nice Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: 2 map packs will see the light of day first through Xbox Live. Woohoo... Final Fantasy XIII: Expect it on X360 Spring 2010.
That's all folks! We'll be putting up more news as we go.
