E3 booths: Digital Jesters

Digital Jesters are located in West Hall in the pavillion for the UK game industry (which is quite logical seeing that they're a UK publisher).

The first game they showed us is the latest build of Bet On Soldier. The game is supposed to be released just after the summer but as we could see there's still quite a lot of work to be done.

I got the chance to play a bit but after about 20 seconds the game crashed on me. I guess there are still some bugs present. Also the menu isn't finished yet. Setting "invert mouse" isn't just a simple click. Several of the textures also still need to be added so on the graphical aspect we really can't say much yet.

Nice stuff that will be available are mechsuits, upgradeable armor and weapons and I personally loved the rocket launcher with homing missiles :)

Dog Tags is a new game DJs have signed up.
The pitch is that you're part of a marine corp that fights terrorists but unexpectedly, some of your co-marines decide to desert and now you'll have to go up against your former colleagues. As the story unfolds, you'll get to know why they deserted but for the rest little is said.

The game is a third person team-based shooter but the strategical value of your team is rather limited. You can give simple commands to your guys and they'll take defensive positions and help protect you, but don't expect anything near Brothers in Arms or even Republic Commando.

Graphically things are also far from finished (I hope). The camera has a fixed viewpoint with no possibility to zoom out of in and your main character really looks like some puppet a la GI Joe (with the upper body turning differently from the legs and such).

Things like a health meter aren't always visible, when you get shot you get to see blood splattered on the screen and hope that you're paying attention as otherwise you'll be dead before you know it.

Ow yea, localised damage isn't present either, just point somewhere on your target and you'll hit him. Headshot or leg shot... it doesn't really matter.

Last thing we got to see was a new trailer of the upcoming Chaos League expansion, Chaos League: Sudden Death. It looks reasonably nice but nothing special compared to the original.
