When Electronic Arts released negative figures for their last quarter it kicked up a lot of dirt. That dirt has hardly had the chance to settle down before the publisher announced two new titles.

Swedish developer DICE will once again have the opportunity to catapult the Battlefield name to new heights. For this the studio will be working on Battlefield: Bad Company 2,
where players will once again be a member of 'B Company'. Starting Winter 2009 players will enjoy the opportunity to blow each other up in various vehicles and with various weapons. Besides this multiplayer option there will also be a singleplayer side to the game. This time around there will also be a PC version in addition to an Xbox 360 and a Playstation 3 variant.

To get the players warmed up for all this DICE will also be working on another multiplayer Battlefield title. This game will be called Battlefield 1943, and will be available in the Summer of 2009 through Games for Windows, the Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Store. In this upcoming title up to 24 players can pick up the fight online, using weapons and vehicles from the World War II era.

Both Battlefield 1943 and Bad Company 2 will make use of the new next generation Frostbite engine.
