Electronic Arts was awake when all this happened and will also release a game in this genre soon.
EA's Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing indicates that the gigantic publisher is already positioning itself on the diving board. "I've been pushing for a long time to be honest with you," says Steve Schnur. "I think you'll see us breaking into the genre sooner than you think."
Considering all the initiatives and connections EA has with the music world, this isn't surprising. Moreover, they come pretty close to the genre with Boom Boom Rocket, an Xbox Live Arcade game.
Maybe they'll let Wii players become a drummer?
