EA confirms KotOR MMO by Bioware

Posted on Thursday, 17 July 2008 by Ryuken, source: Conde Nast's Portfolio.com
EA's CEO, John Riccitiello, has confirmed at E3 that Bioware and Lucasarts are working together on a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic MMO game.

According to this report at least.

"We've got two of the most compelling MMOs in the industry in development," said Riccitiello. The first title, based on the Warhammer property, will launch soon. "And the one that people are dying for us to talk to them about -- in partnership with Lucas, coming out of BioWare, which is, I think, quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry at the point when we get closer to telling you about it."

Does Riccitiello mean the oft rumored Knights of the Old Republic Online? "Yes," he said.
Some would call this a poorly kept secret (there were almost too many rumours about it for it not being true) but now the cat is out of the bag for real. No further intel other than this though, I bet SOE doesn't like to see a new Star Wars MMO coming (especially not one made by Bioware) if they want to keep their Star Wars: Galaxies subscribers.

The question now begs, should Jedi be a playable class in the game? I have some thoughts here: geekcritique.wordpress.com/2008/07/17/star-wars-kotor-mmo-heres-how-it-should-play-out/

Hmm, I'd rather have no Jedis in the game alltogether, gunslingers are way more fun.
