EA has no interest in Harmonix
Harmonix, the studio behind Rock Band and Dance Central, is up for grabs since a couple of weeks. Viacom, the owner is planning to sell the lossmaking entity.
Electronic Arts, publisher of the Rock Band series, has come forward and stated that they have no interest in acquiring the studio but rather wants to focus on new IP and technology. At least, that's the view of CEO John Riccitiello.
Another reason why Riccitiello isn't interested in Harmonix is the image towards investors. Laying down money for an old studio is hard to sell:

I'm sure some smart investor will buy the business feeling that they can catch a falling knife, but more people have been cut trying to catch falling knives than have benefited from getting the timing exactly right.
