EA on Tiberian Twilight DRM issues

Internet necessity for offline gaming sucks
Electronic Arts' Jeff Green has been tweeting today about the DRM in Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight and seems he isn't too fond of it himself after actually trying it out:
Booted twice--and progress lost--on my single-player C&C4 game because my DSL connection blinked. DRM fail. We need new solutions
Later on he's even more clear on his opinion about the game:
Welp. I've tried to be open-minded. But my 'net connection is finicky--and the constant disruption of my C&C4 SP game makes this unplayable.
Comments even later, however, suggest he's been talked to by some of his bosses, as he suddenly starts backing down his earlier statements:
However, C&C4 experiments w/what a "single-player game" is--given it's constantly uploading progress/stats for unlocks. It's complicated.

I think if we think of C&C4 as an "online-only" game--which it basically is--then maybe we'd adjust our expectations accordingly.
EA never said it's an "online-only" game and that would have been quite stupid seeing it's the ending of a series of singleplayer games.

I bet people will be "saved" by others that pirate the game to get rid of the internet connection DRM.

Stupid that EA are actively pushing people to pirate a game so they can play it properly. I'm sure they will be blaming them on sales figures at some point!
