EA's take on the "bankrupt strategy" comment
Posted on Monday, 18 January 2010 by Zembla, source: Destructoid
The name Mitch Lasky will be unknown to many. No small wonder, the man's main merit is that he was the founder of the company Jamdat Mobile, which he sold to EA in 2005.
In more recent news however he has made a blogpost in which he criticises EA's current strategy as being a "bankrupt strategy".
For this Lasky claims a few reasons. They boil down to declining profit margins for EA Sports titles, investments that fail to pay off and an EA too sluggish to adapt to a changing market.
Electronic Arts' head of communications, Jeff Brown, played these comments down, saying Lasky is just bitter. In his words:

Electronic Arts' head of communications, Jeff Brown, played these comments down, saying Lasky is just bitter. In his words:
"Mitch needs to try de-caf. It’s never easy being turned down for a job, but most people don’t spend three years obsessing about it. Since Mitch left EA, Apple invented the iPhone, Facebook evolved to include a gaming platform and EAMobile became the world leader."
Let's just hope Brown turns out to be right, and EA can cut its losses rather than increase them still. Even if one is not the biggest fan of the company, it is hard to argue they're not responsible for some important franchises. In other news:
