Online is the way to go
Electronic Artshas hired Might and Magic creator Jon Van Caneghem to take the lead of the Command&Conquer brand and you may not like his vision.

In an interview, the man stated clearly that online is the way to go, just like "direct-to-consumer".
"Direct-to-consumer is where I think most games are going, and I've always been a fan of the series,"

"Look what online has done for RPGs over the last 10 years," he points out. "All the other categories are following suit... we're looking forward to building something to be a leader in that space."

"It allows you to do everything you would have expected from a boxed game, but it adds a lot more to it... being connected and connected with players, and persistence, the social elements of playing against each other with other friends."

"What you're seeing with all the social gamers on Facebook... they are actually already playing strategy games whether they know it or not," he says. "Taking a franchise like Command and Conquer and expanding it to a wider audience is part of the strategy."
Although he didn't go into details on where he would like to see the Command&Conquer franchise go, it sure sounds like MMO with maybe some Sims-like features.

Dunno about you, but I'm not really looking forward to a Command & Conquer: Tiberium Sims Online. And when it comes to sci-fi MMOs: EA already tried it and failed with Earth and Beyond.

Regardless of the story/game I avoid MMOs like the plague. I know a lot of people who got burnt out on WoW and will probably never play another MMO again regardless of its content. I think the US gamers are getting tired of MMOs. Only way to make a successful MMO these days is probably in China.

When do people learn to leave game series the way they are, and the way theyr being adorred by fans.
And not to change every thing to make it more "cassual" and more social just to get some more money out of it..

When you make such radical changes it is more easy tot make an total new game.
Then thinking you would get all the fans stuck with it, and buying a game that issent the beauty it was.
