It's like a futuristic version of ET (aliens and stuff), based on D3 engine, probably in the Quake universe.

There was a rolling demo at Activision's E3 stand (nothing playable unfortunately) and I thought it was even more impressive than CoD 2 and Q4!

It just blew me away. I just stood there and watched it three times in a row, drool pouring out of my mouth.

Speed can acknowledge this (except for maybe the drool part ;) )

It's the prequel to Quake2. It follows the Strogg invasion on Earth. IMO, it doesn't have shit to do with ET (certainly isn't a futuristic version of it), and it's not a free game either.

COD2 is in a totally other league than games running the Doom3 engine (I would put it along Source, which is previous generation engines).

Would be pretty dumb to release both a sequel and a prequel of Q2 in the same year, wouldn't it?

Besides, I wouldn't be surpised if it were to be a team-based, MP-oriented game, since it already showed a lot of team combat.

I don't think Quake Wars will see a release this year like Quake 4. I was hyping the first too after the trailer, it still looks good but some really new stuff in the multiplayer shooter genre would be nice too.

Zwan, the 'IMO' is for the next sentence. But yes, it's official that it does follow the Strogg invasion before Quake2 takes place. Besides that, Quake4 and QW will have different kind of gameplay - Quake4 is way more in-door oriented with a few outdoor maps, while QW is concentrated on outdoor.
