One of the countries which has suffered the most under the economic crisis is Iceland, which is practically bankrupt at this time. This also has some consequences for the games industry, since one of the most respectable MMO developers called CCP games is based in the capital of Iceland.

Because of current restrictions on the trade, it is very difficult to attract new foreign investments, investments that the company depends on for future projects and expansion. If there is no change, then they might need to leave Iceland to secure the future of their company. If they would leave then they could settle down at one of their other studios in Atlanta or Shanghai or look for a new location.

For the subscribers of EVE Online there won't be much problems, since the servers are based in Londen, still it would be sad to see a company leave their country of origin.
