Eight Days and The Getaway get cancelled

Another game that couldn't "get away" from the axe
Eight Days was first shown at E3 2006 and recent reports suggested that production of the game had finally come to full speed. Once the game would be finished, Sony London was supposed to continue in full force on The Getaway 3.
"It has been agreed that production of both Eight Days and The Getaway will cease immediately due to the redistribution of resources and budget.
"This decision was made following an internal review of all games and it was deemed that with the incredibly strong list of exclusive first party titles coming up both this year and in the near future, resource should be reallocated to enhance those projects closer to completion"
It sounds like this cancellation may very well have something to do with the appointment of Shuhei Yoshida as the head of Sony Worldwide Studios. Bad news for Sony London's future?
