Elder Scrolls IV on 1 disk

A while ago a stuborn rumour was going around that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion wouldn't fit on one disk. The reason would be that the DVD format (which can hold a maximum of 9GB of data) wouldn't do anymore for High-Definition games.

For Oblivion this isn't the problem at all, thanks to a simple post by a Bethesda employee on the forum

No, the game will be on one disk.
