Fallout IP to be completely owned by Bethesda
From this legal mumbojumbo it becomes clear that Bethesda will be the sole owner of the Fallout IP. They will pay $5.75 million for it to Interplay.
The latter (or better put, what's left of it) will become a licensee since they still plan a Fallout MMORPG. There are new conditions though, Interplay has to finish the game in four years and Bethesda will receive about 12% of the profits if the game gets finished.
It seems like the Fallout name is dear to Bethesda, and it's a fact that they'll probably can get more out of it than the almost defunct Interplay now. What Bethesda can get out of it (Oblivion with guns?) and if it will be faithful to the previous Fallout RPG's is another question though.
