Nintendo digging its grave
Masato Kato, former SquareEnix employee and writer of Final Fantasy VII, has said on his twitter that he believes the end of the Nintendo era is near.

He believes that the iPad will be the death of Nintendo, but it all started with the Wii and DS
"With the iPad going on sale, the epoch of Nintendo is finished," Kato tweeted. "But with the DS and the Wii, it's been digging its own grave."
They've been quite succesful with digging their own grave though... seeing their sales numbers. On the other hand: how long can you keep living on casual games?

Yes, because a new device the size of a cutting board is something I can cram into my pocket for some portable gaming. And it weighs 1.6 lbs, which is 3x the weight of a NDS Lite, or equivalent to a full Sony Vaio X netbook. I'm sure my hands and wrists will love the ergonomics of that for gaming at length. And this device will never get any Nintendo exclusives like Pokemon, and Mario which have sold like ten trillion copies. And let's not forget that wonderful Apple battery life, which is being drained by movies, music, wi-fi web surfing, god knows what else.

Sounds like a recipe for gaming domination!
