First Guitar Hero III band announced!

The Queens of the Stone Age, soon to be seen on a stage near you, are sure to appear on Guitar Hero III, as announced by music site The PRP.

The rockin' gents will also feature in upcoming games:

The Queens Of The Stone Age's music will be making a number of video game appearances this year. In addition to having new tracks from their latest album "Era Vulgaris" set to show up in "Madden 08" and "Nascar 08"; the group are perhaps the first band to be officially announced to have their material featured in both this falls/winters "Guitar Hero III" and "Rock Band" videogames. The band had their track "No One Knows" featured in the first "Guitar Hero" videogame on the Playstation 2.

The tracks to be used in these games were not announced.

euhm, The Stones were on Guitar Hero II with "Can't you hear me knocking"...

But I do agree: a nice mix of all time classics with some hard-rock & metal would be sweet.
