First Titan Quest patch out
The first official patch is out for the mythological hack & slash game Titan Quest. You can download the stand-alone version of this update (v1.08, 5.15 MB) right here if the in-game auto-updater doesn't work.
Here are the fixes and some ways to get around certain problems:
It apparently doesn't solve everything, since some people are still experiencing crashes and performance drops. More support and bugfixes are on the way though, according to what Mike Verette, Associate Producer of Titan Quest, tells the lads of Gamebanshee in this post-release interview:

Patch Notes
This patch updates Titan Quest from v1.01 to v1.08
· Fixed crash caused by teleporting in multiplayer after players used Rally skill
· Fixed NPC dialogue windows closing when NPC moves to avoid other characters
· Fixed bug with different relic bonuses for different players in multiplayer
· Fixed relic completion sounds propagating to all clients in multiplayer
· Fixed multiplayer lobby UI error with sort arrow
· Fixed a multiplayer lobby crash
· Fixed internet connection problem with custom maps
· Fixed a memory leak
· Improves multiplayer connection reliability
· Improves multiplayer performance
· Improves item auto-placement in inventory
· Added character back-up functionality
· Added option to disable compatibility check***
***If you have supported hardware but cannot start the game due to a failed compatibility check, you will need to download the stand-alone patch and install it (save to disk, then double-click to execute). Once the patch has been applied, you will need to edit your options.txt file in My Documents/My Games/Titan Quest/Settings, and add a new line to the bottom that reads:
skipCompatibilityChecks = true
Note: Bypassing the compatibility check will allow the game to start with non-supported hardware, but you may still encounter fatal errors as a result. As a reminder, integrated graphics and graphics cards without PS 1.1 capability are not officially supported.

GB: The game's first patch looks to address multiplayer issues and a handful of bugs. Do you have any plans to release additional patches? If so, are there any specific issues you'd like to address with them?
Mike: Our first patch was to address some multiplayer performance issues as well as make a few tweaks to systems such as the inventory auto-placement and fix a few bugs in some areas of the game such as the dialog window close bug we have seen on the NPCs. We certainly intend to continue to support the product through future patches and enhancements. Our primary focus right now is to address some crash issues and performance issues that have cropped up since release on some systems. Moving beyond that we may look at some possible balance adjustments and address any exploits that may reveal themselves.
Additionally we are dedicated to continuing our strong presence on the forums and working with the community to address any questions or issues that may surface, whether it be a bug, question about creating a custom MOD, question about a design decision. Basically look for any ways we can help grow and support the Titan Quest community.
