One of those legendary movie scenes
LEGO Star Wars was a nostalgic cookie jar for kids of all ages, including 29-year-old infants such as my dear colleague b|0-0|n. The fact that Indiana Jones, and more specifically Spielberg's first three movies, would also undergo a LEGO treatment made a lot of crewmembers very happy, to say the least.

In EDGE magazine, there's a preview with the first details on LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures. The game will consist of 18 levels, full of memorable scenes from the original pictures.

More sand, Indy!
Indy's trusted whip will be used to grab stuff, swing over gaping holes and climb up ledges. Of course, you'll also be able to use it against wild animals and the obligatory human opponents. Indy will also carry a spade to delve holes and search for new items. You won't be doing much shooting, since the ammount of bullets carried is limited.

It's surprising to see that the Nazis from the original have been swapped for more generic-looking baddies. In exchange, you'll be given a lot more freedom and possibilities in exploring your surroundings than the previous games.

Stacking the Indy adventure up against the Star Wars games, Edge says that "Pulling levels to open doors, building platforms to reach them and then destroying them (and everything else) for studs has grown into something more open and explorative".

According to the article, Lego Indy is far funnier than Lego Star Wars. It describes how, in the scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark when Indy shoves the Staff of Ra into a hole in the map room, the intense beam of light that reveals the resting place of the Ark will actually either blind the hero of set the room on fire. But it's not saying which.
For those of you already convinced: the game will be released this June.
