Force Unleashed 3 canned?
Although we hadn't even heard it was announced yet, LucasArts' new president Paul Meegan seems to have cancelled Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 3.
On the other hand: LucasArts hasn't really been doing all too great, despite having some fantastic IPs. Maybe a big shakeup is what the company needs.
...according to sources at Lucasarts, Meegan has cancelled a third Force Unleashed game that was already in development, and members of Force Unleashed II's team (though we're not sure exactly how many) will be shown the door once that game ships.
Another unnamed project, due to ship next year, has avoided the axe, but has been "put on hold" while developers have been told to "expect management and reporting changes".
It seems things aren't going all too well internally at the publisher since Meegan took over with sources saying morale and productivity are at an "all-time low". Seeing that apparently most Lucasarts devs found out about the cancellation of the PSP version for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II through gaming news sites, that doesn't really sound surprising.Another unnamed project, due to ship next year, has avoided the axe, but has been "put on hold" while developers have been told to "expect management and reporting changes".
