GC: Sony announces Go! Explore: GPS for PSP

Posted on Wednesday, 22 August 2007 by Thibaut, source: Fragland.net
It's been a long time coming, but today Sony finally announced their GPS add-on for their PlayStation Portable handheld.

1_t2
Teaming up with companies TeleAtlas and NavNGo, the Japanese giant will release Go! Explore, which will feature 3D city maps and be useable both in your car as on foot. Some landmarks (I'm thinking of Big Ben or the Eiffel Tower for instance) will also be rendered in 3D.

The GPS solution will feature eleven languages and will be available in 7 geographic versions: UK/Ireland, Iberia, France, Germany/Austria/Switzerland, Italy, Benelux and Scandinavia. More regions and improved maps will be made available on the PlayStation Network.

– Multiple Languages 11 languages
– Find & Go Easy Search & Smart Keyboard
– Smart Zoom Automatic Zooming & Tilting
– Explore Map Search & Explore the map
– Points Of Interest 100 categories, with thousands of
locations
– My Data Favourites, Home, History
– Route Settings Fastest/Shortest; Day/Night Mode;
– Improved Graphics 3D city maps & 3D landmarks;
– Customizable settings Customizable Route Settings & Visuals
– Itinerary Mode Turn-by-turn overview

If the price is right, I think Sony may have a winner in its hands!
