GH5 vs Beatles: 1-0
It isn't a real surprise that Guitar Hero 5 is doing better than The Beatles: Rock Band if you think about the popularity of the Beatles with the young console crowd.
Activision announced that their new music game has easily taken the lead over The latest Rock Band of MTV Games, which focused solely on The Beatles.
Dan Rosensweig, head of the Guitar Hero department confirmed that the release of The Beatles: Rock Band did not influence their results and that in comparison they have sold five copies for each one of their competitor in the U.S. and nine times as much in other regions in the first week after its release.
Viacom, which MTV Games is part of is still quite happy with the results of the latest Rock Band, since they are better than expected. They announced that in the first week they were able to sell a quarter of their produced copies.
Everyone is happy it seems, even you gamers. Except for our wallets of course, you have to pay around 70 euros for Guitar Hero 5 here in Belgium :(
