GTA advert banned
Well, it couldn't remain quiet on GTA: San Andreas for too long so Boomtown is now reporting that 8 complaints had come in at The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) after an advert for GTA was shown on Channel 4 before 9 PM and children could still see it although the ad contained violence that the complainers apparantly didn't really like.
Rockstar's response was of course good enough to keep the fire flaming as they stated that their policy is that they only advertise surrounding programs where at least half the viewers is below 18.
The TV ad has been taken offline and will no longer be shown before 9PM.
"We could understand the parents' concerns that it was inappropriate for young children to see this level of violence in advertising for a product which was only available to adults," said the ASA. "The advertising was shown in breaks around programmes which, although not designed specifically for children, were considered to be acceptable family viewing."
